All-Russian Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) is the leading materials science center of the Russian Federation. It performs the full innovation cycle - from fundamental and applied research to creation of high-tech science-intensive productions for production of new generation materials, semi-finished products and unique technological equipment.

The company develops and supplies a wide range of metallic and non-metallic materials, coatings, technological processes and equipment, methods and means of protection against corrosion and bio-damage. VIAM offers its developments to solve problems in aviation and machine-building, space industry, energy, construction, medicine and other fields.

VIAM, together with branch institutes and design bureaus have created and commercialized more than 3200 brands of structural and functional materials. There are 25 hi-tech research and production complexes with modern equipment and producing more than 250 types of materials.

At present VIAM is a recognized center of materials science that not only offers new materials, but also evaluates the creation of products in terms of the needs of modern production outlined in the development strategies of leading integrated structures - state corporations UAC, UEC, OSK, Rosatom, Roscosmos, Russian Railways, holding company Russian Helicopters and others.
